Fat Miilk Coffee

Fat Miilk is a Vietnamese coffee brand roasted in Chicago since 2020, and its Uptown shop on North Broadway is where the company shows what it means by a bolder, more robust cup. The brand specializes in the Robusta species, trades directly with producers and says it sources ethically, paying close attention to the people and the quality behind each bag.

The room is dark and dramatic, with black walls, a long sculpted bar and shelves of metal tins, and the drinks lean on Vietnamese ca phe traditions rather than the usual espresso menu. Beans, a brew guide and merchandise can also be ordered online, and the company runs events. The shop opens at eight on weekdays and at half past seven on weekends, closing at four or four thirty.
