Dark Matter Coffee The Mothership

The Mothership is the home base of Dark Matter Coffee, a roastery and cafe at 738 North Western Avenue where Ukrainian Village meets West Town. It is open every day from six in the morning until six in the evening, one of the longer days among Chicago's specialty cafes, and it sits within the Chicago roaster's wider family of cafes and its chocolate project, Sleep Walk.
The menu is built to show the roaster's range, from classic espresso drinks, drip, press pot and pour over to signature drinks such as an agave latte, and a mocha made with barrel aged coffee. The Cafe Miel uses honey from the company's coffee producing partners in Guatemala. Dark Matter is also known for pairing its coffees with artwork and collaborations with artists and musicians, which gives the bags and the walls a distinct character.
