Anticonquista Café
Anticonquista Café is the Pilsen home of a roaster that runs its own family farms, with beans grown in Guatemala and Honduras and roasted in Chicago. The café opened in March 2025 as its first permanent shop, after years at markets and events, and it aims to be a third space for the city's Central American community.
The room is bright, with terracotta and blue walls, a large quetzal mural and shelves of books. The menu pairs a full espresso bar with coffee brewed as traditional café de olla and small bites with a Central American accent. Radical books and community events fill the calendar, and the space has a ramp for wheelchair access. It is open Tuesday to Friday from half past seven until three thirty, and on weekends from eight until five.
