Kross Coffee Roasters

Kross opened this first shop in August 2015 on the edge of Chania's old town, next to one of its two historic mosques. The building was close to ruin before the team stripped it back, and the room now catches sunlight from early morning. The company was founded by Sotos and Stavros Michael with pastry chef Katerina Mavromataki, and it began roasting its own coffee here in 2017.

The menu stays short and focused: espresso drinks, pour overs and a cold drip tower, with sweet and savoury pastries from the Kross pastry kitchen. Afternoons bring a negroni or a cold craft beer, and wooden benches line the pedestrian alley outside.
