Rosetta Roastery Claremont

The curved timber slatted building at 1 Osborne Road in Claremont with the Rosetta sign above the glazed ground floor cafe, trees and planters in front and Table Mountain rising behind

Rosetta Roastery was founded in 2010 by three friends, Jono Le Feuvre, Rob Cowles and Jeff van Aswegen, who traded a shared band for a shared love of specialty coffee. They have built one of South Africa's best known roasteries on a simple idea: no house blends, just a rotating range of single origin coffees from celebrated growing regions, offered the way a restaurant offers a seasonal menu. The Claremont cafe opened in November 2025 on the ground floor of a handsome building under the slopes of Table Mountain, with the roastery itself right next door.

A dedicated filter brew bar anchors the room, with a choice of rotating single origin coffees for espresso drinks and the full Rosetta range close at hand. A reserve coffee freezer menu offers limited edition favourites brewed to order as pour overs, and the kitchen here offers a more extensive food menu. The roasting team works next door, and visitors are welcome to say hello and perhaps catch a roast in progress.
