Bould Brothers Coffee

The marble counter at Bould Brothers Coffee, with a hand lettered menu board listing espresso, piccolo, flat white and cappuccino, a glass pastry case of croissants and cakes, and a barista at work

Brothers Max and Alex Bould left careers in London to open their first cafe on Round Church Street in December 2016, bringing more than a decade of combined specialty coffee experience with them. Every bean served scores above 80 on the specialty scale, and the pair have since added Regent Street and Hills Road locations without changing that baseline.

The Round Church Street original is small and intimate, with a handful of pavement tables for people watching and a cosy room up a steep old staircase that regulars claim as their own. Dogs get a biscuit at the counter, and the cake case runs alongside a short list of proper sandwiches through the day.
