L'Atypica

Ludovica Ladu, who grew up in Ogliastra, and Carol Mello, a Brazilian musician and singing teacher, opened L'Atypica on Via Giuseppe Garibaldi in 2025, turning a narrow storefront in Villanova into both a micro roastery and a café. A record player runs through the day and the pair have built a small listening club around it, alongside vintage furniture and glass cases that put the roasting equipment on view.

Green beans come direct from growers in Brazil, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Colombia and are roasted on site in small batches, sold under names like Boboi, Manso, Dengo, and Stravanau, each paired with its own suggested way to drink it. Espresso, decaf, and filter are all on the counter, alongside milk drinks that draw on Brazilian recipes, sourdough bread, cornetti, and a vegan pastry case that is rare among Cagliari's cafés.
