Tide Coffee Roasters

A black and white view from the bar at Tide Coffee Roasters, with the silhouette of a barista beside a grinder and large windows looking over the sea to apartment towers and a bridge

Tide is at the Mipo end of Dalmaji hill, above the harbour, with a wall of windows facing the water. The window bar is the best seat in the room, and the rest of the space is kept open, with a bookshelf, a sofa and larger tables set back from the glass.

Tide roasts its own beans and serves them as hand drip, with a note card for each single origin, across a short list that moves from bright Kenyan and Rwandan coffees to sweeter Guatemalan and Colombian ones. The idea is to strip the hype from specialty coffee, with fair prices and a focus on the basics.
