Tamp & Pull Espresso Bar

Founded in 2012 by Attila Molnár, a four time Hungarian Barista Champion and the only Hungarian to reach a World Barista Championship final, placing sixth in 2009, Tamp & Pull is widely credited as the shop that kickstarted Hungary's specialty coffee scene. Molnár has since been named Hungary's best cafe three times and picked up international media coverage.

The Czuczor utca original sits on a quiet side street near the Great Market Hall, a simple room built around barista trophies rather than decor, closer to an IKEA showroom than a design statement. House coffee now comes from Molnár's own roastery, One Eleven Concept Roastery in Sopron, after years of sourcing from the UK roaster Has Bean. Regulars describe a visit as something closer to a guided tour than a transaction, staff eager to talk through what is in the cup. The brand has since grown to additional locations across the city, each keeping its own hours.
