Peti Balázsi and his wife Dia opened Hungary's first specialty coffee shop in April 2012, three months after a trip to visit relatives in Melbourne left them struck by the professionalism of the city's cafe scene. The twenty five square meter room on Madách Imre út initially served Italian style coffee alongside the specialty menu; after a trip to the London Coffee Festival later that year, they committed fully to specialty and dropped the Italian side entirely by 2016.

Milk arrives daily from a single Hungarian farm, pulled through a Sanremo Opera machine, and small koala figurines nod to where the idea began. House beans now come from the couple's own roastery, Racer Beans, part of a wider set of policies that includes discounts for anyone arriving by bike and incentives for bringing a reusable cup. Dogs have been welcome from the beginning. An adjoining space, first opened as Bon Dia, now runs as the shop's brew bar.
