Mantra Specialty Coffee Bar

Two owners opened Mantra as a small espresso bar on Veres Pálné utca in 2014, on a quiet tree lined backstreet barely a block off the tourist crowds of Váci utca. A bigger, more colorful room followed in the summer of 2017, and the shop has grown since into a specialty coffee bar, roastery, and school all at once, running its own cupping sessions and brewing workshops alongside the daily espresso bar.
House roasts run light across origins from Ethiopia, Brazil, and Honduras, and Mantra is the only stockist in Hungary for the Italian roaster Rubens Gardelli. Filter options span AeroPress, Chemex, Clever dripper, cold brew, and French press, pulled through a La Marzocco Linea Classic for the espresso side, with an almond latte as the house favorite. Persian rugs and yellow leather couches fill the room by the big front windows, dogs and kids are both welcome, and beans are sold by the bag for anyone wanting to take the roast home.
