Kontakt

Kontakt opened in 2014 tucked into the Röser courtyard off Károly körút, a location invisible from the busy avenue outside and quiet because of it. The shop built its identity around not adding sugar, baristas steering guests toward tasting a coffee's own flavor rather than sweetening it, across an espresso, filter, and alternative brew menu that runs from V60 and syphon to nitro and batch brew.
Manager Péter Bajkó has run the coffee side since opening, and in 2020 co founded KTRL Coffee Roastery with roaster Roland Nagy, after Kontakt had spent time selling its own experimental roasts in house. KTRL beans are now Kontakt's house coffee, alongside past rotations from roasters including Five Elephant, La Cabra, and Koppi. Weekend service runs Saturdays only, and the kitchen serves a compact brunch menu of avocado toast, pulled pork sandwiches, and banana bread.
