Fekete

Fekete's courtyard seating area with its terracotta fountain and chalkboard sign, guests seated at tables under the building's arched galleries

Fekete opened in 2013 as an eleven square meter espresso bar on Múzeum körút, expanded two years later, then moved into a larger courtyard space in 2017. The shop selects its green beans through cupping sessions, and Budapest roaster Casino Mocca has turned them into the house coffee for years now, after earlier rotations from the London roastery Alchemy and from Awaken in the town of Tata.

A La Marzocco Linea PB anchors the espresso side, while a retail wall stocks AeroPress, Chemex, Kalita Wave, V60, and syphon gear alongside bags of the house beans and branded mugs. Brunch runs every day until three in the afternoon, built around cold pressed juices, sandwiches, and pastries from the shop's own bakery arm, nor/ma. The courtyard seating out back fills through the day, tucked away from the traffic of the Kiskörút outside, and dogs are welcome throughout.
