BOB Coffee Lab

BOB Coffee Lab opened in the summer of 2017 in the garage of an interwar villa in northern Bucharest, founded by Alexandru Niculae, the 2016 World Coffee Roasting Champion, and Paul Ungureanu, who took third place at the 2015 World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship. The pedigree shows: BOB has since been ranked among the World's 100 Best Coffee Shops and named the only Romanian entrant on Europe's 100 Best Coffee Shops list, landing 11th in that ranking.

The original garage location still roasts on site, sourcing beans from around the world to build its own profiles rather than sticking to one house style. The brand has since grown to additional Bucharest locations near Universitate and inside the Baneasa mall, but this Charles de Gaulle flagship, close to Herastrau Park, remains the place where it started.
