Coffeebar Adriaan

Coffeebar Adriaan runs out of a former bank building from 1832, a neoclassical room near the Stadsschouwburg theatre that swapped teller windows for a coffee counter without losing much of its original character. A Bruges chef once named it a personal favorite through the city's Flavourite Bruges program, and the room still runs on a similar promise, a short list of things done well rather than a menu trying to cover every base.

Breakfast here is put together by the barista rather than sent out from a kitchen elsewhere, granola bowls and rolls topped with local cheese alongside the coffee, cake, and a short list of organic lemonades and local beers for later in the day. Dogs are welcome throughout, and the shop keeps a shorter week than most of its neighbors, closed Monday and Tuesday and open into the evening on Sunday.
