Café Placzek

Jiřina Plačková set out to open a small cafe with a handful of tables and ended up with something closer to a Viennese grand cafe, generous in scale and service in a way that's made Café Placzek one of the reference names for brunch in Brno. The city center room on Minoritská has stayed a fixture since, consistently ranked among the best in town by local coverage.

Brunch runs long, Monday through Friday until early evening and through the weekend on shorter hours, coffee served alongside a full food menu rather than as an afterthought. Daily hours from morning into the evening keep it workable well past the breakfast crowd it first built its name on.
