The Flour Pot Bakery

Oli Hyde built The Flour Pot out of a chef's frustration with supermarket bread, launching the bakery's first range as a baked goods supplier for Small Batch Coffee before opening this Sydney Street shop in the heart of North Laine in 2013. Years spent cooking at Terre à Terre and One Paston Place, plus running his own catering business, shaped an insistence on long fermented, properly made bread over anything shortcut.
Coffee here comes from The Milk Shed, the bakery's own sister roastery based in Brighton, poured alongside a case of hand baked pastries, vegan croissants, and sandwiches made fresh through the day. The breakfast bun with Hillbilly sauce and a crushed avocado toast draw the morning crowd, while a back room and pavement seating give Sydney Street regulars somewhere to sit with a coffee rather than just grab one to go.
