Sip First

Teun and Inge Fransen, the same pair behind Koffie bij Teun, opened Sip First on Sint Janstraat as a more elevated second concept, a bolder room with murals painted across the facade and interior and a Modbar system built under the counter. Rotterdam's Man met Bril supplies the house espresso, and the bar rotates further guest roasters on top of it, a genuine multi roaster approach rather than a single default supplier.

The kitchen leans into an upscale brunch blending Indonesian, Lebanese and American influences, and the drinks list runs past coffee into wine and cocktails for the part of the day when the espresso gives way to something stronger. A terrace out front and quieter zones inside give the room more range than a standard brunch spot, closer to a full day bar than a coffee counter with food on the side.
