Koffiebar Sowieso

Jop's love of coffee started during a ninety day stretch working a plantation in Colombia, and after years behind the counter in Amsterdam he opened Sowieso on Nieuwstraat in 2016, a fully plant based bar with nothing dairy on the menu. He still travels to Amsterdam most Mondays to personally roast the shop's beans, a hands on supply chain rare among bars this size.

Breakfast, lunch and cakes all run vegan, and a bookable Guilt Free High Tea extends the plant based approach into a full afternoon spread. The room takes no table reservations outside of the high tea, built for casual drop ins, and monthly barista workshops round out a shop built as much around Jop's own roasting habit as the counter itself.
