Chatwick Coffee Roasters

A cupping session with Chatwick branded bags, roasted beans and cups of coffee on a wooden counter, a hand holding a cupping spoon

Thomas opened Chatwick on April 1, 2021, working with his father to convert a former kiosk on Nieuwe Ginnekenstraat, after time behind the counter at Amsterdam's Jones Brothers Coffee and a coffee shop in The Hague. It is the only specialty bar in Breda running its own on site roastery, a Typhoon coffee roaster from Prague that roasts entirely by fluid bed rather than drum, one of only two machines of its kind at work in the Netherlands.

Croissants and pastries are baked in house alongside the coffee program, and the shop runs latte art and filter brewing workshops for anyone wanting to go past just drinking the result. Beans are sold both by the cup and to take home, and the business has since expanded into Den Bosch, Tilburg and Bergen op Zoom, Breda remaining the original location and roastery.
