Barismo

The black storefront at 364 Broadway with the hanging barismo sign and a Best of Boston 2015 window decal

Barismo grew out of a group of baristas who started meeting to taste and experiment with roasting in 2006, then opened as a roaster in a small East Arlington storefront in January 2008 because nobody in Boston at the time was doing what they wanted done: sourcing coffee transparently and roasting it with real attention to the bean. This Mid Cambridge cafe at 364 Broadway opened in 2012 inside the historic F.B. Hubley Auction House and now serves as the company's flagship coffeebar and bakery, alongside the original roasting operation still based in Arlington.

The shop hosts occasional public brewing demonstrations, including siphon coffee sessions, and sells its own roasted beans by the bag alongside the espresso and drip menu.
