Moko Coffee

Thomas Labroue grew up in Bordeaux and spent years behind the bar at KB Coffee Roasters in Paris before moving home planning to open his own shop, a plan the pandemic pushed back for years. He worked alongside two of the city's established roasters, Piha and La Pelle, while he waited, then opened Moko with his wife Ninon in 2024 inside a rue Castelnau d'Auros storefront that used to be a car park and later a briefly running Italian restaurant. Architecture firm Dircks reworked the space around a retro interior that mixes 1960s lines with salvaged cinema signage left over from the building's past life.

A La Marzocco Strada machine pulls espresso for a menu built on specialty coffee sourced from KB Coffee Roasters, with beans also sold by the bag at the counter for anyone who wants to take the same cups home. Carrot cake and a drink called the Mokoccino sit on the menu alongside a breakfast and light lunch menu of pastries and small plates that keeps the room busy from morning through early afternoon.
