Lampadina

Empty bistro tables on Lampadina's covered terrace looking out at the porticoed street with a passing tram blurred in motion

Giacomo Acanfora grew up working his family's two pizzerias, studied fashion design, and spent time living in London before coming home to Bologna to open Lampadina near Palazzo Belloni, designing the whole Scandinavian leaning room himself without an architect. Coffee runs on Caffè Terzi beans, poured as straight espresso or through pour over, moka, and syphon depending on what a customer wants.

The signature drinks are what Acanfora calls lampuccini, flavored cappuccinos like a hazelnut Dolce coccola, a blueberry La rosa nel bosco, and a cinnamon ginger Oriente espresso, alongside bagels named for Bologna associated singers such as Dalla and Vasco Rossi. Pastry creams are made in house, and the bread comes from the neighboring bakery Piron el Furnar.
