Forno Brisa San Lazzaro

A covered row of brick and steel framed shopfronts on Via Carlo Jussi in San Lazzaro di Savena with glazed doors, a creeping vine on the brick wall at left and planters along the pavement

Forno Brisa San Lazzaro is the bakery's outpost just beyond the eastern edge of Bologna, on Via Carlo Jussi in San Lazzaro di Savena. Behind the glass front a long counter of pastries and bread runs the length of the room, with a mezzanine above and a covered outdoor area for warmer days.

Specialty coffee and natural wine share the menu, so the room fills with a morning crowd for espresso and returns for a glass in the evening. Savoury focaccia with cured meat sits on the counter beside the sweet pastries. The coffee is roasted by Brisa, and the cups carry a line about drinking coffee from a supply chain with a high positive impact. It opens at 7:00 every day but Sunday, when the doors open at 8:30 and close at 14:00.
