Forno Brisa Laura Bassi

A glass fronted pastry case at Forno Brisa filled with golden croissants and filled pastries in warm light, with shelves of bread rolls and loaves behind it

Forno Brisa Laura Bassi stands just outside the historic centre on Via Laura Bassi Veratti, a room with a pitched timber ceiling where the bread shelves rise behind a long glass pastry counter and a front panelled in reclaimed wood. It is a bakery first, with the coffee bar worked into the same counter as the loaves and pastries.

The shop suits a slow breakfast, with a small room set aside for working and an outdoor area that fills for the evening aperitivo. Brisa's own roasted coffee is served as espresso or filter alongside the sourdough and pastries. The counter is open every day, with a pause on Wednesday afternoons, and dogs are welcome inside, with water bowls put out for them.
