jusq'à

A cappuccino with leaf latte art beside a matcha latte in a branded jusq'à cup

jusq'à occupies an unassuming house entrance in Bern's old town, opening into two rooms with entirely different moods, relaxed seating for mingling on one side and a bustling coffee bar built around a Kees van der Westen Speedster on the other. Founder Dany Affolter has since passed the business to new hands, and it still reads as a place built for conversation over a long stay at a screen.

Beans come from the Swiss roastery AROMAWERK, and the baristas take their time with each drink, treating the pour as worth watching rather than rushing through. The name translates roughly to until, or up to, matching a space that asks you to slow down and stay a while rather than pass through.
