Kaffee 9

A bar with a dark front and timber end, wire stools, green enamel pendant lamps, a brass milk churn of wildflowers and shelves of jars and tins glowing beyond a timber bench

Kaffee 9 holds the Eisenbahnstraße entrance of Markthalle Neun, a long counter under high ceilings where coffee is the main event. The coffee comes from Vote Coffee, a Berlin roastery that started on the premises, and the room describes itself as a space for everyone in and around the hall.

Food is available too, and the bar opens early, at half past seven on weekdays, which makes it a good first stop before the market stalls fill up. Sunday hours are shorter.
