Berrybeans

Berrybeans sits behind an unmarked wooden door on Zhujia Hutong, part of the cluster of lanes known as Dashilar's Eight Great Hutongs, in a courtyard building that once operated as a brothel before its conversion into a cafe. Two small rooms flank a plant filled courtyard, with a narrow stair leading up to a rooftop terrace that catches the sunset over the surrounding rooftops.
The pour over list runs to dozens of beans sourced from origins across the world, brewed one cup at a time by baristas trained to taste each batch before it goes out. A green basque cheesecake and a rotating pastry case round out the menu, though regulars mostly come back for the coffee and the quiet of the courtyard itself.
