Barista Coffee Roasters

The lantern lit counter at Barista Coffee Roasters, a barista and seated customers visible through the glass storefront

Barista Coffee Roasters opened on Wudaoying Hutong early enough to count as one of the street's original third wave shops, years before the lane filled with the boutiques and cafes that line it today. The room holds only a handful of seats, exposed brick, industrial pendant lights, and a small roaster tucked behind the bar that supplies the shop's own beans.

The espresso and hand drip menu stays focused rather than sprawling, built around a rotating single origin list, though a soda iced Americano has become the drink regulars order all summer. It is a stop for people who already know Wudaoying's coffee scene, tucked in among newer, flashier rooms that opened around it.
