Roast Club

Iker Zago learned to roast in Italy working for a company called Pura Vida, then ran an eight square meter coffee shop in New York's East Village before a 2014 trip to Costa Rica sealed his decision to make coffee the whole plan. He picked Barcelona in 2016, early enough in the city's specialty wave to help shape it, and built Roast Club into a two part operation, a roastery and takeaway counter over in Sant Antoni and this sit down café and brunch spot on Carrer de València.

Brunch runs daily here alongside the espresso program, and the bag art on the retail shelf, playful illustrated designs for single origin releases with names like Spicy Island and Rwanda Abdul, gives the shop a lighter, less austere feel than most of the city's specialty counters. Dogs are welcome throughout.
