Morrow Coffee

Morrow Coffee is a bright corner café and roastery on Gran Via, a couple of blocks from Plaça d'Espanya, started by Andrey Rachnov after he came to Barcelona to study at the Institute of Coffee and found a local scene that changed how he thought about the drink. He had always wondered why coffee tasted so bitter to him, and Morrow grew out of finding a different answer, with the first doors opening around 2017.

The beans are roasted by the team in small batches and sold in bags, with espresso and filter lots from places such as Ethiopia, Colombia, Rwanda and Nicaragua rotating through. Large windows light a modern industrial room with bar seating along the glass and a few tables, a calm stop away from the busier streets closer to the old town. Espresso is pulled on a Victoria Arduino Eagle One.
