Rocket Coffeebar

A grey banquette, mustard and charcoal armchairs and a marble topped table in the dining room at Rocket Coffeebar

A Swedish trio of mixologists who had already reshaped Bangkok's cocktail scene opened the first Rocket Coffeebar in July 2013 on this Sathorn soi, before the specialty coffee wave most of the city now takes for granted had really arrived. A second shop later opened on Sukhumvit 49 and has since closed, leaving this original Sathorn room as the flagship, a short walk from both Sathorn and Chong Nonsi BTS stations.

Shots run through a Synesso Hydra machine pulling small batch roasted beans, served alongside a Nordic leaning all day menu of herbed omelettes, gravlax salmon and open faced smorrebrod sandwiches. Light wood furniture, sunlit windows and a mix of indoor and outdoor seating give the room a Scandinavian cool, Bangkok chic feel that regulars still treat as a weekend breakfast institution, dogs included.
