Spokesman Coffee Highland

The Highland shop is Spokesman's second room, set in a retail building on Dillard Circle in North Austin and carrying the same idea as the original on St. Elmo Road. Coffee roasted in house is poured as espresso, filter and cold drinks, and the evening menu adds draft beer, so the bar changes character as the day goes on.

Black and white murals wrap the walls and the ceiling above the counter, with illustrated cups, faces and hand lettered slogans that turn the whole room into a single piece of artwork. Tall stools run along the bar, a pastry case sits at one end and a menu board hangs over the register. The shop is open until nine on weeknights apart from Friday, and its weekend hours start a little later in the morning.
