Mozart's Coffee Roasters

Four local couples, among them Ken and Stacey Leonard, founded Mozart's in 1993, inspired by the emerging specialty coffee scenes of Seattle and Southern California and billed since as Austin's first on premises coffee roaster. Roasting happens alongside a scratch, European style patisserie, both built around the shop's real centerpiece: a roughly 300 seat outdoor deck sitting directly on Lake Austin.

The lakefront deck hosts regular live music and draws both laptop regulars and out of town visitors in equal measure, wifi reaching every table on the water. It has stayed a fixture of the Tarrytown waterfront for more than three decades.
