Medici Roasting Springdale General

Medici Roasting calls itself Austin's original specialty coffee roaster, and since 2006 it has grown from a single Clarksville bungalow into a group of cafes. The Springdale General cafe is the newest of them and shares a building with the company's roasting facility, at the heart of a multi use development in East Austin that is full of studios, creative offices, restaurants and small businesses.

The cafe is a large, airy room with a long dark counter, pendant lights and a mix of café chairs, sofas and outdoor tables by the entrance, built for staying a while. Single origin and blended coffees are served alongside espresso drinks, and the same beans are sold as bags and through subscriptions. It is open every day from seven in the morning until seven in the evening.
