Patrick Pierce, a former South Central Regional Barista Champion, and Lorenzo Perkins, a four time competitive brewing champion and then chair of the Barista Guild of America, founded Fleet together before Pierce became sole owner in 2018. This Webberville Road shop began as a single triangular room in East Austin and is now branded the Original, the company having grown to four Austin locations since.

The small footprint keeps the focus tight on the espresso and pour over bar rather than a sprawling menu, though a hand whisked matcha with a choice of milk shows up alongside the coffee. It remains the flagship room the rest of the Fleet locations grew out of.
