Barrett's Coffee

Barrett's Coffee roasts its own beans in Austin and today works from a cafe and roastery on West St. Johns Avenue, where a patterned breeze block facade and a walk up window face the street. Steven Kerner leads the roasting and buys the green coffee, which is sold in retail bags and shipped through subscriptions.

Pour overs, espresso drinks and iced coffees are served at the counter, and the roastery also supplies cafes and offices through a wholesale program and offers event catering from a mobile coffee bar. A second cafe, Barrett's Too, operates on North Loop Boulevard. The St. Johns shop is open from seven in the morning until seven at night every day.
