RAANI Coffee Roasters

RAANI Coffee Roasters brings Indian coffee to East Atlanta. Praveena, who founded it, grew up on a fifth generation tea farm in South India, where freshly filtered kaapi mixed with hot sweetened milk was a morning ritual, and that memory shaped the whole project. Most of the coffees come from small farm holders in the Western Ghats, with limited micro lots from other origins alongside.

The roasting is done in small batches in Atlanta, and the shelf includes Kirimiri Kanja, a Ritual Kaapi coffee and a house espresso. The cafe on Moreland Avenue is a recent arrival, a neighborhood counter where the drinks are built on those beans, and bags go home with you. It opens early every morning and keeps the same hours through the week, a little later to start on weekends.
