Chrome Yellow opened in the summer of 2015 on Edgewood Avenue in the Old Fourth Ward, serving coffee alongside a carefully chosen selection of dry goods. Today it is a coffee company that roasts in small batches on a Loring S7, which sits in a sunlit back room next to the cafe, full of greenery and natural light.

The team roasts for wholesale partners as well as for its own counter, so the room hums with brewing while the roaster works behind it. Baristas pour seasonal signature drinks, and bags such as Huxley, the Counter Point blend and the Island coffee sell by the bag or through a monthly subscription of curated coffees. It opens at seven on weekdays and a little later on weekends, closing at five.
