Banjo Coffee

The white brick front of Banjo Coffee at 38 North Avondale Road, with its name in large capitals above navy awnings, a navy door with a banjo emblem and window decals for the coffee bar and the food counter

Banjo Coffee started in 2014 as a cold brew business, founded by Billy and Chasidy Atchison with Sebastian Kegel, who perfected the recipe at home before opening a shop. The storefront in Avondale Estates opened at the end of 2016 and was the first in the Atlanta area to put cold brew on tap, and a banjo still hangs on the wall above a bright counter with a yellow espresso machine.

The tagline is craft coffee served with southern hospitality, and the range runs from cold brew in cans and kegs, which are sold for home and for other businesses, to espresso drinks and brewed coffee at the bar. The shop is on North Avondale Road, close to the town center, and it opens at seven every morning except Sunday, when it opens at eight, closing at four each afternoon.
