Caffènation

Rob Berghmans opened Caffènation as Antwerp's first espresso bar in the early 2000s, a run of more than two decades that's made him the city's most recognized name in specialty coffee. The Lamorinièrestraat address is one of five bars the company now runs, roasted through the PAKT headquarters that also handles Caffènation's own light roasted, in season lots.

Fruity, traceable, and priced transparently, the beans here follow a philosophy Berghmans has kept consistent through the brand's whole expansion. Long weekday hours ease into a slightly later weekend start, keeping the bar workable for a full range of regulars rather than just an early commuter crowd.
