Toki

Jeff Flink came to coffee from an advertising career with no hospitality background, training as a barista at Berlin's Bonanza Coffee before opening Toki in August 2015. The room pairs Scandinavian restraint with Japanese minimalism around a marble counter designed by Max Lamb, a look that has made it one of the most photographed cafes in the city and pulled in a design collaboration with Kyoto's KINTO.

Bonanza remains the anchor roaster, now joined by rotating guests like Copenhagen's Prolog and Barcelona's Right Side, poured alongside Bellocq tea from Brooklyn and Crate beer from London under a full drinks license. The kitchen runs a short, considered menu built around Toki Toast and porridge, in keeping with the shop's own go slow motto.
