Skina

A row of white Skina mugs printed with the name in dark red lettering on a plywood shelf against bright red cabinets

Skina takes its name from the Papiamento word for corner, and it works as one, a bright neighborhood café on Bilderdijkstraat in Oud West with tall ceilings, funky linoleum floors and big canvases. It was set up as a place for people to meet around art as much as coffee, and the idea of adding wine was dropped to keep it a daytime room.

The coffee comes from Rush Rush, an Antwerp roaster, brewed by hand for filter and pulled on a two group Kees van der Westen Spirit for espresso, with dairy and non dairy milks. It opens every morning and stays through the afternoon, a few minutes from Bellamyplein and the other good coffee on this side of town.
