Coffee Bru

Billed as the first specialty coffee shop in Amsterdam-Oost, Coffee Bru was founded around 2011 by a small collective of local coffee aficionados, including Jeroen Keyzer, Joris Kobussen, and Marie-Louise Drost. The shop doesn't roast its own beans, instead rotating between outside roasters De Eenhoorn, Bocca, and Boot Koffie rather than committing to a single house supplier.
That same founding team went on to open Rum Baba Coffeeroasters elsewhere in Oost, giving the two shops a direct lineage even though they now run as separate operations. Coffee Bru's outdoor tables are dog friendly, and the Beukenplein square out front gives the counter a genuine neighborhood square to sit on rather than just a street side view.
