Caffènation by Guji

The Warmondstraat bar opened in 2014 as an Amsterdam outpost of Antwerp roaster Caffènation and has been under new operators since 2022, trading as Caffènation by Guji, a nod to the coffee region in southern Ethiopia. The coffee is still Caffènation, roasted in Antwerp by a roaster that prints what it pays for green coffee, from the price per kilo of cherry to the price on the boat, and was the first Belgian roaster to sign a transparency pledge, in 2021.

Every espresso drink is a double shot in a single size, plant milk costs nothing extra, and the toasties are made to order on local sourdough, including a jackfruit rendang version with vegan cheese. There is a babyccino and a small toastie for children. The room runs over two floors behind a big street window, with tables out front, and bags of beans are ready to take home.
