Elementary Coffee

Elementary Coffee runs as both a cafe and a working roastery, buying green coffee with an eye on sustainability and cupping new arrivals every week before they go on the menu. The Young Street shop sits just off Rundle Mall and keeps to a tight weekday morning schedule, pouring flat whites and long blacks for a crowd of city workers who treat it as a daily stop rather than an occasion. A second, quieter branch operates out in Torrensville, giving the roastery a foothold on both sides of the CBD.
Beyond the counter, Elementary sells its blends and single origin coffee as whole beans, either picked up in store or posted out through a monthly subscription. The food side stays simple, pastries and cookies rather than a full kitchen menu, which keeps the focus squarely on what is in the cup. It is a compact space built for quick, well made coffee rather than lingering, though the queue that regularly forms out the door suggests plenty of people are happy to wait for it.
