Figment Coffee

The bright open interior of Figment on Countesswells Road, with timber tables, black chairs, bar stools and a pale wood counter beneath exposed beams

Figment is a specialty coffee roastery and café at 70 Countesswells Road in Aberdeen's West End, founded by Neil Glover, who left a career in oil and gas after a life changing latte. The beans are bought green and roasted in the same building by the roasting team, then served as espresso, including single origins, and filter coffees that change week to week. Every dose is weighed to a tenth of a gram before it goes through the Synesso.

The space is designed to be calm, a bright, minimalist room with exposed beams, pale wood and a muted palette, made for meeting and lingering. The kitchen cooks fresh each day, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options, and the wine list is chosen with the same care as the coffee. Evening meals and Food Truck Fridays are run in the café, and a second site, The Wichery by Figment, is on Fountainhall Road.
