Kochs Kaffebar

Kochs Kaffebar has run out of Algade, Aalborg's main pedestrian street, since a family opened it on the ground floor in February 2013, then took over the first floor as well less than two years later. A 2018 renovation added a rooftop terrace, and the same family still runs both floors today with a staff that has grown past two dozen.
The counter turns out coffee brewed from a rotating stable of beans in a wide range of styles, alongside smørrebrød, cake, and a full breakfast and brunch menu that keeps regulars coming back well past their morning coffee. The white painted beams and quiet hum of conversation give the space a settled, unhurried feel that suits both a quick espresso between errands and a slow Sunday plate of open faced sandwiches.
