Privacy Policy

Caffeine Hunter is run by Caffeine Hunter Limited, a company registered in the United Kingdom. This policy covers the caffeinehunter.com website and the Caffeine Hunter app for iPhone and Android. Questions about it go to send@caffeinehunter.com.

The app

The app works without an account. Browsing cities, maps and shops needs no sign in and sends us nothing about you.

Your location. If you allow it, the app uses your location on your device to show shops near you and to notice when you arrive at one. Your location is never sent to us or to anyone else, and never stored on a server.

Your favourites. The shops you star are saved on your device. If you choose to sign in, they are also backed up to your account so you can recover them on a new phone.

Your account. If you sign in, we receive your email address and, depending on the method, an account identifier from Apple or Google. With Sign in with Apple you can hide your email, and then we only see Apple's private relay address. We use this only to run your account and sync your favourites. We do not sell it, share it for advertising, or use it to track you across other apps and sites.

Notifications. If you allow them, arrival reminders are scheduled on your device and do not involve our servers.

Deleting your data. In the app, open Favourites and tap Delete account. This permanently removes your account and the favourites backed up to it. Favourites saved on your device stay there until you delete the app. You can also email us and we will delete your account for you.

The website

If you sign in on the website, we store your email address and the shops you add to your favourites in the same account the app uses, so they appear on both. Your sign in is kept in your browser's local storage until you sign out. The website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular, which sets cookies in your browser. If you suggest a shop through our form, we keep what you send so we can follow it up. Our pages may load fonts, maps and images from other providers, who receive your IP address when your browser fetches them.

Who handles your data

Account data is stored with Supabase, in the European Union. The website is delivered through Cloudflare. Sign in is provided by Apple or Google if you choose them. Emails we send, such as your sign in link, go through Resend. These providers act on our behalf and only for those purposes.

Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to stop using it. Email send@caffeinehunter.com and we will reply within 30 days.

Children

Caffeine Hunter is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
